ROME, NY — Griffiss Institute is pleased to announce the eight startup teams of the next AFRL Commercialization Academy cohort. The companies, which are developing innovations in the cyber security, big data analytics, information systems, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry, were selected from an ambitious pool of applicant submissions.


The AFRL Commercialization Academy is a Griffiss Institute entrepreneurial education program sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI). The Commercialization Academy pairs high-caliber founders with high-potential AFRL technologies with the goals of developing entrepreneurial leaders and launching new technology ventures.


“The Spring 2020 cohort is an impassioned group of startups with many creative ideas that can positively impact Central New York and the entire country,” says AFRL Commercialization Academy program manager Dan Fayette.


ACMA’s Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE), a prestigious composites industry competition held for over 20 years, recognizes outstanding achievement and innovation in technology, manufacturing and product development. Congratulations to our 2019 finalists for the Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE).

Material and Process Innovation Award - This award is presented for a material or process that best contributes to efficient manufacturing and product sustainability. The entries should demonstrate use of innovative materials, production techniques or methods that result in better quality, reduced production costs, increased production rates and volume, or reduced life cycle costs. The entry must demonstrate its application in the manufacturing of a specific, end-use composites product.
